Sterling Geo Transforms the Way Rezatec Analyses EO Data

Hexagon Geospatial has a network of channel partners and customers who showcase news about the most cutting-edge technologies, new implementations and dynamic uses of our solutions.  On an ongoing basis, we will be featuring news and insights from our vast network.

Today, we would like to highlight some news from Sterling Geo, our channel partner who provides geospatial solutions using our ERDAS and GeoMedia software in the United Kingdom.

The company recently announced that it is working with landscape intelligence providers, Rezatec, at the Satellite Applications Catapult in Harwell, Oxfordshire. Sterling Geo is helping the organization leverage ERDAS IMAGINE for analyzing high-resolution UAV imagery, which includes low resolution MODIS satellite data.

“We utilize various image pre-processing and enhancement tools in ERDAS IMAGINE to improve the ability of algorithms to detect ground phenomena of interest,” said Todd Sajwaj, Earth Observation and GIS Specialist at Rezatec, in a recent press release. “Additionally, we use the image classification tools to map land cover and LiDAR tools to extract DTMs, DSMs and canopy height models.”

“The results so far are very positive and we hope that this will give confidence to other organizations looking to analyze, manipulate and manage both high and low resolution imagery,” said Phil Cooper, Director and General Manager for Sterling Geo.
