Intergraph Receives 2014 Award of Excellence from NAV CANADA

NAV CANADA is a private, not-for-profit corporation that is responsible for Canada’s entire civil air navigation system (ANS).  Managing all air traffic in Canadian airspace, the company’s staff is made up of approximately 2,000 air traffic controllers, 800 flight service specialists and 700 technologists.

Furthermore, it manages 12 million aircraft movements a year for 40,000 customers in over 18 million square kilometers – making it the world’s second-largest ANS provider by traffic volume.

The company recently honored Intergraph with an Award of Excellence, which recognizes suppliers that have provided outstanding support in 2014.

The award shines a light on Intergraph’s efforts to produce and manage the visual flight rules (VFR) chart series for NAV CANADA.  In addition, the joint production and quality assurance teams at NAV CANADA works with Hexagon Geospatial’s GeoMedia® Professional software for the validation and production of the VFR charts.

“Intergraph’s experience and expertise with charting capabilities benefit NAV CANADA with our goals in meeting the demands of the aviation industry and our customers,” said Jim Ferrier, NAV CANADA manager aeronautical information management, in a recent press release.  “This award recognizes the Intergraph team’s support for and dedication to our mission.”

“Intergraph has a long-standing partnership with NAV CANADA since its creation in 1996,” said Robert Patten, vice president of Intergraph Canada. “We are honored by this recognition. Intergraph will continue to work in partnership with them on charting and mobility options for the future.”
