Introducing the Power Portfolio 2016

HxGN LIVE 2016 marked the release of the Power Portfolio 2016, which included new versions of the Producer, Provider and Platform Suites. In Part 4 of the Geospatial Keynote, Mladen provides a few key examples of updated features from the release.

Highlights of the Power Portfolio 2016

The first example comes from the Platform Suite. Mladen shows us an XML script that developers use for building workflows within GeoMedia Smart Client. This is powerful, but it limits users to people who are familiar with XML. Hexagon Geospatial created the Graphical Workflow Manager to make this as simple as drag-and-drop. This new tool allows users to graphically build enterprise business workflows. This empowers users who are not familiar with XML scripting to graphically build workflows they can implement and distribute across their organizations.

In the second example, we look into the Provider Suite. Hexagon Geospatial made it easy for AutoCAD Civil 3D and Map 3D users to include raster backdrops directly within their CAD system. By using ECW imagery, AutoCAD users can use even terabyte-sized images to provide visual context for their workflows.

Last, but not least, we see an example from the Producer Suite. The Spatial Modeler has been a part of ERDAS IMAGINE for years, but the number of GIS and vector operations it could perform was limited. The 2016 release extends the power of spatial analytics into GeoMedia to begin filling this gap. This expands the power and functionality of your geoprocessing and begins to bridge the gap between remote sensing and GIS.
