Highlighting Geospatial Solutions for Smart Cities at HUAWEI CONNECT 2017

0

With increasing populations, cities all over the globe are constantly faced with pressure to build smarter solutions for a better quality of life. For these Smart Cities, geospatial technologies and data available to us in multiple industries, such as health, safety and infrastructure, provide the necessary support for improvement in communities. Discover the ways geospatial solutions for Smart Cities can be implemented to help us better prepare for what’s to come in the future.

We are proud to announce that we will be highlighting Hexagon Geospatial solutions at Huawei Connect 2017, 5-7 September! Together with Huawei, we will be showcasing some of the most innovative geospatial solutions in the industry.

At Huawei Connect 2017, we will showcase solutions to support the development of Smart Cities, presenting new solutions that enable the use of geospatial data in a dynamic and streamlined way.

Every city is different, and each city is faced with its own unique challenges to decision making. Smarter decisions necessitate access to updated information. Whether this data come from crowdsourcing, or the growing number of internet-connected sensors used by municipal planners, Smart Cities are stressed to ingest and manage the influx of information. They cannot wait weeks or months to build custom reports and traditional maps: they need leverage all their data sources and perform real-time analysis to inform their timely decisions.

Smart cities need a way to fuse these multiple disparate sources and generate a complete picture of the situation on a Common Operational Picture (CoP) at any given point in time. Once they have this CoP, they need to be able to quickly build, streamline, and protect custom workflows which transform the data into the basis of smart decisions. And once the decisions have been made, they need to simplify the communication of the decision to other departments, stakeholders, and citizens.

Cities have access to the Big Data (Geospatial Governmental Open Data or Private Data from various sources). Hexagon helps addressing the Smart Cities needs by providing solutions to build Industry Specific Enterprise Solutions for Public Administration, Utilities and Communications, Geospatial Management for Public Safety Systems, Geomarketing or more.

Abstract:

Most of the world’s population lives or will soon live in medium and large cities. Challenges to provide the optimal level of services to citizens while ensuring global safety and high quality of life are demanding. Cities must react with a clear, strong and feasible strategy to allow the implementation of intelligent, integrated and geospatial-enabled solutions.

We look forward to seeing you at Huawei Connect 2017!
