Hexagon Geospatial is excited to announce a partnership with the DigitalGlobe Foundation to invest in the future generation of geospatial technologists. The DigitalGlobe Foundation is a non-profit organization that issues grants to individuals at academic institutions who need access to satellite imagery to advance their research, develop their skills, and unlock the unique potential of the geospatial technologies. The Foundation has supported university research around the globe, from the University of California San Diego’s Big Pixel Initiative, which is making research advancements in public health, economics, and ecology, to the environmental and agricultural research being done by Rakuno Gakuen University in Japan that is helping the UN meet its sustainability goals.

Hexagon Geospatial has teamed with the Foundation to provide licenses of our industry-leading software and high-accuracy, high-resolution satellite imagery to applicants with approved grants. This is to ensure the individual not only has access to the highest-quality data, but also has the appropriate tools to transform that data into actionable, intelligent information. Success relies upon having all of the necessary ingredients to whip up the full geospatial recipe!

“The DigitalGlobe Foundation was established on the belief that we have a unique opportunity to help educate students about how space-based Earth observations can create knowledge and awareness of our changing planet, and from knowledge and awareness comes action to help solve the challenging problems facing humankind,” said Kumar Navulur, President of the DigitalGlobe Foundation. “The Foundation is excited to be partnering with Hexagon Geospatial to offer students industry-leading software and content that they may not have been able to access otherwise.”

“Hexagon Geospatial is proud to provide licenses to the technologists who are shaping the future of the geospatial industry,” said Mladen Stojic, President of Hexagon Geospatial. “Data provides the fuel for understanding the changing world around us, and Hexagon Geospatial software provides the engine you need to analyze and make sense of the data. That is the only way that we can see what was, understand what is, and begin to shape what can be.”

Hexagon Geospatial is proud to provide short-term project licenses for the duration of approved project. We offer the full geospatial chain of capabilities, from authoring the data on desktop platforms, to Enterprise, Cloud-based, and even mobile solutions. The packages offered include the most powerful, most robust remote sensing package on the market – ERDAS IMAGINE, IMAGINE Photogrammetry, GeoMedia, and the newest cloud technology, Hexagon Smart M.Apps. The Hexagon Smart M.App platform allows developers to create their own targeted, lightweight, geospatial ‘apps’ based on Hexagon Geospatial technology.

Hexagon Geospatial is committed to the success of our students and the future of geospatial technology.  This partnership allows individuals to advance their education and continues the investment of industry through grants.
