T-Kartor Supports the New York City Wayfinding System

Hexagon Geospatial has a network of channel partners and customers who showcase news about the most cutting-edge technologies, new implementations and dynamic uses of our solutions.  On an ongoing basis, we will be featuring news and insights from our vast network.

This week, we are spotlighting how T-Kartor is supporting unique transportation efforts in New York City. The second major phase of the New York City wayfinding system (also called WalkNYC) aims to reduce travel time and increase the level of comfort for commuters and travelers in the city.

This new system offers locating totems that provide real-time bus information at SBS (Select Bus Service) stations along a new route of this bus rapid transit system.  The cartographic map production was lead by T-Kartor, together with a design team including wayfinding specialists CityID and industrial designers Billings Jackson.
